Welcome back to another post for Steam Deck News. In this article, I have some exciting updates to share with you all.
First up, Emulation Station has received a significant update, adding support for Android. Although this might not be related to Steam OS, I wanted to mention it here. However, I've seen that the legal battles with Nintendo and Yuzu seem to have caused some changes. Yuzu support has been removed from the Switch system, and now RetroArch is the only emulator available at the moment if you still want to use a Switch emulator on your Steam Deck.
Proton Experimental has received another update that brings all the changes from Proton 9.0 Beta 15. Some of the notable fixes include making Cities: Skylines playable on Intel GPUs, fixing a few 9.0 regressions, and making Ether Vapor Remaster playable again. Proton 9.0 Beta 15 also received an update, which fixed a few Proton 9.0 regressions and made games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition and Total Warhammer 3 playable again.
In other news, the PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 received an update, adding full gamepad support to the main interface. It also fixed an issue with the app image not working in game mode when playing on Steam Deck.
Valve has been keeping track of games on the Steam Deck and has released a list of the top 100 games played on the device in the past year. Most of these games are currently on sale due to the Spring Sale, so be sure to check out the list.
Finally, there are a lot of sales going on right now for the Steam Deck, including the Humble Bundle deal called Spring Into Learning and Fanatical's own version of the Steam Spring Sale. They even have a section called Games on the $5, $10, and $20, which makes it super easy to find great games at specific price points.
