Ally X Specs are finally here

We have some incredibly exciting news to share. We've just had an exclusive first look at the ROG Ally X specs.

This article from VideoCards.com gives us an in-depth look at the latest specs for the ROG Ally X. To start off, the APU remains the same as the original RG Ally, featuring the Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU with eight Zen 4 cores and 12 RDNA 3 compute units. So, no surprises there.

The screen also stays the same, with a 7-inch full HD display, 120Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits brightness. Again, nothing new here. But now, here's where it gets interesting.

One of the most exciting updates is the battery. ROG Ally X will feature an 80Wh battery, which is double the capacity of the original ROG Ally. This upgrade is absolutely incredible and will undoubtedly make the device a beast in terms of battery life.

Memory also gets a significant boost. The ROG Ally X will come with 24GB of LPDDR5 memory, up from the original model's 16GB. This increase is a very welcome change.

As for the weight and feel, the ROG Ally X is going to be 70g heavier than the current RG Ally and a bit thicker, measuring 36.9mm compared to the previous 32.4mm. While the added weight and thickness might be noticeable, the benefits seem to outweigh these changes.

A major game-changer is the replacement of the external GPU port with a USB-C Type 4 port. This update means we can potentially use an external GPU without always relying on the XG Mobile. This is a huge win! Additionally, it will support DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0.

Cosmetically, the ROG Ally X is going to feature a black shell, making those rumors of a black model official. Asus has also upgraded the cooling system with a fan that is 23% smaller and fins that are 50% thinner, yet airflow has increased by 10%. This is a notable improvement in thermal management.

Another feature to look forward to is the precision D-pad, which will be interesting to test out. While there's no official word on the price yet, rumors suggest it might be around $800.

In conclusion, these updates to the RG Li X are fantastic. The USB-C port replacing the XG Mobile port is a significant improvement, and the larger battery is a game-changer. These changes make the RG Li X a highly anticipated device.
