Dragon's Dogma 2 Steam Deck Gameplay

I have some exciting news to share with you all! Recently, Dragons Dogma 2 was released, but unfortunately, it has received mostly negative reviews due to random microtransactions and poor performance.

As seen on Steam, the game is not really playable in the way that it should be. However, there is a way to play it the way it's meant to be played, and I will reveal that later in the post!

The experience on Steam Deck is also not very impressive, with random bugs that affect the resolution, making the game look distorted. However, there is still an option to run the game at over 60 frames per second, and you don't even need a PC, just an internet connection. Even with everything set on low and Fidelity FX super resolution 3 on performance, ultra-performance mode is still pixelated, making everything look hideous.

But, if you switch to performance mode and use the beta 9 version of proton, it becomes slightly more playable in some early instances, although it is still not perfect. When it comes to the combat section, it is just unplayable, with only 10 frames per second, making it look like a slideshow.

However, there is some good news. Those who are familiar with GeForce now and follow their GeForce now Thursday updates might have noticed that Dragon's Dogma 2 was added. With GeForce now, although the 1280 by 800 resolution is still squashed, make sure to keep it at 720 on first boot, and it will go full screen. With everything maxed out on the high preset, you can also turn raytracing on or off.

On the ultimate tier, you will get extremely smooth gameplay, with 50 to 60 frames per second. Although it still occasionally dips down, the overall experience is much better.
