Today I'm taking a look at Fortnite on the MSI Claw, and I have to say, it's definitely more playable than a lot of other games we've tested.
We're getting a good 60-70 frames per second, depending on the area, and we'll be running through each of the modes, so you can see just how well it performs in things like Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Festival, as well as No Build.
We're running the game at 720p with the AI mode enabled, using medium graphics preset, and leaving everything else as is. When we're diving in from the lobby, we're getting around 60 FPS, which can dip down to the 50s occasionally, especially when doing some emotes with lots of people going around us. However, we're still pushing 40 watts and even hitting 100°, but the fans don't seem exceptionally loud.
When diving out of the bus, we do drop down into the 50s temporarily, but we don't have any stutter, and it feels nice moving around, even driving. In the Battle Royale sections, we're still getting 60 FPS for the most part, so if you're looking to play Fortnite Battle Royale on the MSI Claw, you won't have any issues with these settings. The hall effect joystick and triggers feel exceptionally good, although my controller aim is still absolutely appalling as a primarily mouse and keyboard player.
In Lego Fortnite, we sit pretty much around the 50 FPS mark, with occasional rises up to 60, but for the most part, we sit in the mid to low 50s. If you want some fast action in Rocket Racing, you can get 60-70 FPS for the most part, with occasional dips down to the 50s.
In Fortnite Festival, it sits around the 50-60 FPS mark, but again, you're not going to have any issues.
The temperature drops down into the 90s, and it looks fantastic. Overall, Fortnite runs exceptionally well on the MSI Claw, and you won't have any issues in any of the modes.
If you're still thinking about picking up the MSI Claw, the performance on other games might have put you off. But, rest assured, Fortnite runs exceptionally well with these settings.
