This new Decky Framegen plugin isn't officially part of the Decky Loader Plugin Store yet but we can side-load to apply Framegen mods to games by replacing DLSS DLL with FSR3 DLL. You will have to have Decky Loader installed to use this plugin. If you don't, you can follow our handy installation guide here.

Step 1

Open your browser in Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck and go to: https://github.com/xXJSONDeruloXx/Decky-Framegen. Now download the Decky.Framegen.zip as shown below. Save this ZIP file in a place you will easily remember as we will use this location shortly.

Step 2

Return to Game Mode the menu button and then click the settings cog icon in the top right of the menu. Once you open the settings, navigate to the bottom of the general settings tab and you will find developer mode. Toggle that on.

Step 3

Navigate to the Developer tab within the same settings menu as step 2 and hit Browse next to the Install Plugin from ZIP file option. Now find where you installed the Decky.Framegen.zip file and select it.

This should install the plugin but some reports are saying you may have to do this once or twice and in some extreme cases a user reported they had to repeat step 3 ten times before it was installed. To tell if it is installed your Decky Loader menu will look like ours does below:

Step 4

Installing the mod is as simple as selecting the Decky Framegen option from the menu you see above and selecting Install FG Mod, once complete it will look like this:

Step 5

From the same menu, you want to Select A Game To Patch from the drop-down menu. This will open a pop-up and show the currently installed games you can patch. In our example today we are using Black Myth: Wukong. After you have selected your game from the pop-up window you then want to "Patch" the game from the menu. If done correctly you will see a message stating "Launch options set successfully" below the patch options. Examples are shown below:

Step 6

Navigate to the game on Steam Deck you have just patched and select the controller layout option. Navigate to the Quick Settings and toggle on "Enable Back Grip Buttons". Now we are going to edit the L4 button. When you click on this navigate across the tabs until you reach the NUMPAD section and select "Insert". After you have done this your screen should be like ours below:

Step 7

Launch your game, turn on your newly acquired Frame Generation option and enjoy a higher framerate thanks to this great plugin.

Using our L4 button we remapped we can now bring up a plethora of options to tinker with thanks to this plugin. In our example below we have changed to FSR3 and applied. If you change any options and you don't like them you can always default by hitting the "Revert" option and starting again.
