Proton Experimental got some nice updates yesterday including a long-standing issue with Overwatch which would cause the controller to stop working when an online match was starting (this also seemed to happen randomly on respawn so hopefully that is fixed as well)
Gears 5 login issues and Escape from Monkey Island minimizing when using a mouse have also been fixed.
The latest changes are:
Fixed game stutter in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.
Fixed keyboard input registering with a delay and getting stuck in Wild Hearts.
Fixed Escape from Monkey Island getting minimized on a mouse click.
Fixed Overwatch 2 stopping to register controller inputs after an online match has started.
Implemented English speech recognition for Phasmophobia.
Fixed Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition failing to launch after a recent game update.
Fixed Microsoft Flight Simulator crashing in accessibility settings.
Fixed a few Proton 8.0 regressions:
Logging in online in Gears 5 works again.
Doom Eternal no longer crashes with ray-tracing enabled on AMDVLK / Nvidia.
This adds to the large list of changes already in Proton Experimental which will make its way into the next Proton Version (current is Proton8.0-2), you can see the full Proton Experimental Changelog here
