July's Most Played Games on Steam Deck

It's that time again where we take a look at the most played games on Steam Deck by hours played for the last month. I'll be featuring stats from the SDG companion app, available on both the iOS and Android app stores, as well as footage and performance data recorded on the Steam Deck. Some games are newer than others, so let's dive in.

Starting off at number 20, we have Hogwarts Legacy, an open-world action RPG set in the world of Harry Potter. Players embark on a journey through familiar and new locations, customize their character, craft potions, and master spell-crafting. Performance has been a bit up and down, but with the FSR 3 implementation, it now runs at a fairly solid 30 to 40 frames per second.

Moving on to number 19, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has made a re-entry into the charts. This randomly generated action RPG shooter with roguelike elements offers a lot of replayability and unique gameplay experiences.

At number 18, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX features a collection of the first six stories in the Kingdom Hearts series. It runs smoothly at 60 frames per second on the LCD or 90 on the OLED, making it a great choice for players.

A surprise new entry at number 17, Forza Horizon 4 has seen a surge in popularity, especially with up to 60,000 daily active players in the last month. This shared open-world racing game boasts dynamic seasons and runs incredibly well with a few tweaks.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes the number 16 spot, offering players a gripping story and immersive gameplay. However, it's quite heavy on battery drain, providing only a couple of hours of gameplay.

At number 15, Hades II sees the immortal prince of the underworld taking on a bigger, deeper mythic world. Running at a perfect 60 frames per second on the LCD and 90 on the OLED, it offers a satisfying gaming experience.

Moving on to number 14, Cyberpunk 2077 immerses players in a futuristic open-world setting, although performance can vary, especially in certain areas of the game.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has climbed up to number 13 and offers a slightly easier game to run, holding a solid 60 frames per second on the LCD and struggling just a bit on the OLED.

Red Dead Redemption 2 retains its allure at number 11, although it demands quite a high wattage, limiting gameplay to around 2 hours due to its stunning visuals and immersive gameplay.

Fallout 4, at number 10, continues to be popular, especially with the Fallout London mod release. However, it's worth noting that the remastered version presents certain challenges on the Steam Deck.

Vampire Survivors has moved up to number 9, offering a time survival game with minimalistic gameplay and roguelike elements, providing around 5 to 6 hours of gameplay.

At number 8, Grand Theft Auto V remains well-loved, running at a smooth 60 to 80 frames per second on the OLED and offering a solid 60 frames per second on the LCD.

Hades stays firm at number 7, providing a consistent and enjoyable experience for players.

Moving up to number 6, Dave the Diver runs incredibly well and provides a solid 4 to 6 hours of gameplay on the LCD or OLED.

No Man's Sky makes an impressive re-entry into the top 20, offering beautiful visuals without compromising performance, providing a good 2 to 4 hours of gameplay.

Baldur's Gate 3 presents a solid 60 frames per second on the LCD and around 90 on the OLED, but does face certain gameplay challenges in specific segments.

Balatro runs smoothly at a perfect 60 frames per second, offering around 5 to 8 hours of gameplay on the OLED and about 3 to 5 hours on the LCD.

Stardew Valley holds strong at number 2, offering a lengthy gameplay experience of 6 to 8 hours on the LCD and close to 10 hours on the OLED.

Finally, Elden Ring remains at the top spot, offering an expansive open-world experience with a new DLC, providing between 30 to 40 frames per second on medium to high graphic settings.
