There have been a tonne of minor updates on the Preview and beta branches for Steam OS the last couple of days, with the latest one titled: SteamOS 3.5.4 Preview: Almost Stable.
Are we going to see a Stable Steam OS 3.5 release in time for the arrival of people's first Steam Deck OLED models in around a week?
Pre-orders go live on the Steam Store at 10 am PT (6 pm GMT). Are you going to pick one up?
Here are the highlights of the last few days of updates:
General
Fixed some cases where notifications could cause stutter
Fixed some cases where the internal microphone wouldn't work
Added an HDR badge to app details for games that are marked as having HDR output.
Fixed a regression with color management sliders
Fixed a fan control regression
Added support for Steam Deck OLED
Removed spurious splash screen during reboot and shutdown
Steam Input
Improve the look of the configurator when there are no controllers connected.
Fixes to both Gyro as Joystick Modes: Min/Max remapping was not allowing values to become zero when gyro values were less than the minimum required joystick output values.
Gyro to Joystick (Deflection) mode uses a sensor fusion controller accelerometer rather than quaternion for more consistent behavior. This should address issues where the X output would become canted in the legacy modes. Note: it may feel subtly different. Feedback welcome.
Let us know if any issues you have been experiencing in the beta or preview branches have been fixed or if there is something that is still really annoying you.
