The Last of Us Part 1 on Steam Deck, a disappointing start

We were getting a bit concerned when there were no early access review keys, reviews, or Steam Deck compatibility status for the Last of Us Part 1 on PC or Steam Deck ahead of the global PC launch, it turns out, for a good reason. It's really not a good experience right now.

From waiting an hour for the shader cache to complete, before you can even start the game, to multiple crashes being reported by users without the UMA or Cryo fixes, it really isn't a great experience.

At the time of this article, the negative reviews are pouring in, so it's not a Steam Deck issue, it's an awful port for PC overall.

Hopefully, we will see some patches to help these issues and some proton updates to alleviate any caching issues overall, but this should have been delayed and optimized in our opinion, this shouldn't have been released in this state.
