The Thaumaturge Legion Go Gameplay & Best Settings

Writer's picture: TylerTyler

We would like to express our gratitude to Evolve PR for providing early access to test a game called The Thaumaturge on the Legion Go device.

The Legion Go is praised for its fantastic performance with the game, although some settings adjustments are necessary. Notably, the game doesn't support native resolutions of 1200p or 1600p, requiring users to find a compromise, with 1080p being suggested.

We want to highlight that playing at 720p upscaled to 800p on the Legion Go screen yields good results, especially for achieving higher frames per second. However, there are occasional frame rate drops, even with medium graphics settings and TSR.

In the video above, we delve into the game's built-in FSR 3 (frame generation) feature, indicating that it brings micro-stutter depending on settings. The difference between TSR and FSR 3 is small, with TSR providing slightly higher quality. This is attributed to potential optimization issues in the game.

We saw stable frame rates between 30 and 60 fps during major battles, with the game looking clear on the screen. FSR 3 performs similarly to TSR, even in 20-watt mode, offering smooth gameplay when not in major battles.

The video extends to frame generation for Legion Go, emphasizing its effectiveness in achieving smoother gameplay, particularly when the frame generation is enabled with medium settings. The recommended settings include high texture quality, high effects, and FSR 3 frame generation enabled at 1080p in-game resolution and 1200p on the Legion Go.
