Vindictus: Defying Fate Playtest Steam Deck Gameplay and Best Settings

As a fan of action RPGs, I decided to give Vindictus: Defying Fate a try myself. The game seems to be running quite well on Steam Deck, although there are some occasional dips in the frame rate.

The combat mechanics take some time to get used to, but it can be very satisfying when you finally beat a boss. The game seems to be a mix of Elden Ring and other Souls-like games, with a focus on stability and graphics. There isn't much of an RPG element in this play test, but the gameplay is quite engaging.

The graphics are also impressive, although I did notice some ghosting and blurriness when using FSR. The best settings seem to be medium with TSR on balanced. I saw a stable frame rate and it made the character model look nice. However, there are still some optimization issues with the game which I hope get fixed down the line.

Some cutscenes cause the frame rate to drop below 20 fps, regardless of graphic settings. Additionally, when there are several enemies on the screen, I saw the frame rate dip below 30 fps. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved with further optimization after the play test. Overall, Vindictus: Defying Fate is a promising game for fans of Souls-like games.

It is fully functional on Steam Deck, and the combat mechanics and graphics are impressive. Despite some optimization issues, it is definitely worth giving a try.
